The Sun

The Sun represents the clarifying warmth that follows shadow. It speaks of a season when effort meets its natural completion, when what was unclear becomes plain, and when the energy within things reaches its fullest expression. This is not a card of striving alone, but of arrival—the moment when persistence yields to presence, when one can simply be in the light that has been earned. The Sun asks you to recognize what is ripening and to trust the clarity it brings.

The upright and reversed forms of this card show two rhythms of the same natural law. Upright, the Sun shines directly and results manifest quickly, openly, without obstruction. Reversed, the same Sun exists, but obscured by cloud or distance—results still come, but gently, in their own unhurried time. This is not failure but patience. What appears delayed may simply be ripening out of sight. The reversal cautions against the impatience that sometimes follows near-success, reminding you that even the Sun must cross the entire sky.

When The Sun appears in your reading, consider whether you are moving into clarity or still waiting for it. Either way, the presence of this card suggests that stagnation is temporary. Allow yourself to rest in what brightness already surrounds you, for even a modest warmth continues to grow. The light touches all things eventually.
